Soulcalibur IV

I would like to purchase and play Soulcalibur IV, but I would prefer not having to purchase all of the previous installments. Could I do this, or would it just make no sense whatsoever?

Hmm. No, you can get it. The story mode doesn't really look back on things so to speak so you should be fine. Although, just for your information, I personally thought that Soulcalibur IV was downgraded from it's previous version. Story mode is disappointing, and just the variety isn't there like it was in 3. But, if you already looked into it and have your mind set, go ahead. I can't say I didn't enjoy all of it.
